Sound Troubleshooting

I have a 2021 TRD ORP. There's a sound coming from the rear liftgate when I shut it or there is any other lateral movement of the vehicle. Trying to find out if anyone else has had this issue and/or has suggestions on how to fix it. Any help is appreciated!

Try taking the rear inner cover off with rear hatch open have some one open & close the side door and look for the noise, if the noise stops after you remove the inside cover could be the clip mounting points on the cover if not then look inside the hatch around the area making the noise.

Sounds like a chain, so I would suggest inspecting the spare tire contraption.

Check the bottle Jack and kit to ensure they are secure behind the side panel.

And before you do any of that, empty out the vehicle of anything and everything that didn’t come with it.

DUDE!! For whatever reason I didn't even consider the spare tire! I just went out in the garage, lowered it an inch and raised it back up. BAM! The irritating sound is gone!!

I was just about to tear the rear hatch apart. Thank goodness I tried this first. Thanks again man. I owe you a beer
