Battery: Die Hard vs Durlast

Well here it is New Year’s Day and I’m gonna have to replace my battery.

Since most everything is closed today, I have two options: Advanced Auto Parts or Autozone. So I’m looking at either Die Hard Gold or a Durlast Gold.

I’m 90% sure I want the DH. Both are same price.

Any recommendations?

I thought about seeing if I could make it until then to get an Interstate. Unfortunately we have some below freezing weather coming.

Which Car Battery is Best? Let's find out! - YouTube

Most of the batteries are made by Johnson Controls here in the U.S. with a different label.

Whatever's local and has the better warranty.

Thanks! Didn’t realize Project Farm had done a vid on car batteries.

It is a great battery. Well, very good anyway. I have one in the Jeep (Gold) and put the AGM version in the 4R.

I tried many batteries and being able to just go to Walmart for my batteries and not have to beg them for a replacement is what I want.
This has worked for me.

Don't forget Costco

They carry Interstate batteries and warranty is 36M not pro-rated IIRC. You can exchange at any Costco. They have lead acid and AGM and price is good FWIW. The 4G T4R lead acid size 24F is about $100 and AGM is about $160...

all batteries are built by a small handful of companies here in the US or Europe for the euro cars. Just get what's local easy and has a good warranty.

Do not get the 24F as is the smallest in size and spec.. For new york or the northeast I wounld go with size 27. And make sure is for cold climate. AMG is a better route, more $ but you'll have the extra crank power when temp. falls below 20 deg.

I was running costco interstate 24f [42mo] it lasted 5 years never a problem but weak crank at temp. below 20 deg.
now I'm running costco interstate size 27[36mo] (HD cold climate). haven't seen below 20 deg. yet
size 27 $93.99 at costco.

Don't waste your money going to a STEALERship. You'll pay way more than any Autoparts store.

You'll be splitting hairs chosing between a Diehard or Duralast battery. Pretty much the same. Same technology. NO difference.

mysticz 01-04-2022 04:08 PM

Consider a Northstar AGM27F or a Odyssey AGM34R both are top of the line batteries.

Bumbo 01-04-2022 09:47 PM

Same shizz different label... just get whatever is most convenient or best price for the stated warranty.
