Best Tire Brand Suggestions

Hi, I’m in the market for some new tires for my 4Runner. I’ve been running Super Swamper SSRs for 15 years and I’m looking to move on to another brand. What are some brands you’ve had good experiences with? Where’s the best place to buy tires online these days? Running 33x12.5 R16 thanks.

The "best tires" will depend on your intended use... Considering you've been running Super Swamper SSRs for 15 years, I'm assuming you don't care much about wet or dry road handling, noise and fuel efficiency! What type of terrrain do you mostly drive on? Are you open to a different tire size?

I am pretty much retired from off-roading so I’m mostly on the road but I like to be prepared if I decide to have some fun. The SSRs have been good but I always end up with a balancing issue after so long. I’ve been shopping around and I think I’m set on these Nitto hybrids. I’m looking for something similar in height and with of 33x12.5

Mickey Thompson ATZs have impressed. Yes I lost 1mpg from the OEM tires and they are a bit louder, but 4WD only needed where it's really needed now. And they look great. Purchased on Amazon - delivered to my shop.

Ridge Grapplers were my choice as my first tire upgrade. I only went from the OEM 265 to 275 on the Grapplers. Road noise is significantly less than I had expected - a trip along a scenic byway with all windows down was very enjoyable. Ride is stiff, especially for anyone in the back seat (stock suspension with KDSS). Gas mileage change was less than .5 mpg

Yeah, best depends.

For serious offroad use + good street manners = ATZ P3/ Baja Boss, stated above.

The Ridge Grapplers don't have the extra offroad strength of the Mickey Thompsons even though they are a true hybrid as well.

I’ve heard some really good things on the Mickey Thomason’s , I’m going to give them a go

Forgot to add this one. It is almost the same underneath as an ATZ P3 but lacks some features, I think silica? I may be wrong.

There are more size options for the MAXX than for the ATZ.

I still like the good old fashioned BFG AT they are great in snow and last along time.

Here’s what I went with. Hoping there won’t be any issues. The specs are nearly the same as the Swampers without going over the height or width.
