3rd gen rodents
After damage from rodents to my 4th gen and installing a metal screen over the air intake under the cowl, I just acquired a 3rd gen and wanted to do the same. After removing the cowl, I found no visible fresh air intake under the cowl, and with no cabin filter to check,...what do you guys do to keep them out of the hvac system?

The recirculate shouldn't turn off unless you turn it off if you have the regular manual HVAC controls. I know my 4th gen likes to turn the recirculate off with the auto climate control. |
Mice/rats don't like the odor of bleach. Mix some with water and spray underneath around vehicle, even dry the mice can smell the bleach, know its not food and go some place else.
If you want to spend some money for further assurances, MouseBlocker will drive them away for about $100. I use one on my hunting trailer, not one mouse poop. Mouse Blocker – Protecting your vehicle |
