When trying to start the starter spins but engine won't start this is why.
Around seven years ago i tried to start my 4Runner, starter was spinning but engine would not start, what the reason i found out.
The reason is when battery voltage falls to around ten volts, the engine control computer will not allow the fuel pump work, you put in a new battery and the engine then will starts Seven years ago this had me shaking my head, today it again happened i quicklychecked the battery voltage and it was ten volts, went out bought a new battery and again engine started. |
Undervoltage can cause some strange symptoms. My favorite is when all of the locks and relays start chattering!

Here is a picture on my 08 4Runner's Odometer as of today 09/16/2022 (9063).
I keep trying to drive it more but fear someone cutting it's cats off, have enough problems with jerks keying it. |
On my 2008 T4R......when the battery starts to go......the first indicator is that the rear window wiper will cycle a couple of times.
Never had an engine start problem, other than a slowing cranking function. Kevin |
