Do I Need A Special Rear Wiper?

‘98 SR5, rear wiper needs replacing. Difficult finding any CLEAR advice/instruction about whether I need a very particular wiper, as it has that bracket with 2 small screws that attaches it to the wiper arm, or if I can just get away with buying something “off the rack” and make it work.
Can anybody tell me definitively either way?
Thanks!

I seem to remember having similar difficulty with mine, and ended up buying an appropriate width wiper
and sliding the old rubber out and sliding the new rubber blade in. Holds up just fine.

You either need to get an OEM rear wiper, just replace the rubber blade itself, or you can use an adapter. That's the option I went with, and you can see what I used here.

Yeah that’s the route on which I appear to be going down.
Thank you for replying so fast.

my recommendation is to go for the adapter and a 13 inch blade...makes replacing the blade down the line a lot easier as you can just use any old J hook.

I saw a video about replacing the OEM rear wiper on YouTube before, you can have a check

Using some of the links below lead to this on amazon, an OEM blade:
Sorry! Something went wrong!

Tried again, same result, not sure why amazon links aren't copying/pasting correct for me today, so instead just search for: 'Genuine Toyota Parts - Blade, Rr Wiper (85242-35010)'.

that's what I bought. There are two small philips head screws that you remove, take off the old wiper and put the new one on.

That's what I did, too. Otherwise, dealer. I did not see any way to MacGuyver a full refill exchange.

I know I’m going to get booed out of here for this one, but the dealers stock this wiper, no adapters needed.

nah, no boos here, for me at least the convenience of being able to use just any old J hook wiper was the appeal, it'd save me some time getting one shipped or just going to pick one up if I could go to Walmart and get one there.

I understand why some prefer the dealer wiper, but for me the convenience is more worthwhile
