That's SWEET!!! I've been thinking Toyota should make the FJ Cruiser convertable or with a removable top like the classic FJ's. If Toyota does come out with one I'll probably buy it!!!:D

Looks great!!! I wish Toyota put this into production.

I actually kinda like it. Id like to see one in person.

needs a full roll cage

If Toyota made that it would be great competition for the Wrangler.

Looks good. In fact, it reminds me of the project I just picked up :biggrin2:

it does have a roll cage... look at the pics in the link.... might need to be fabed differently but its a good star.... i would want one if it wasnt automatic... make it like the wranglers and also make a hard top convertible. give ppl that are wanting a wrangler over a fj cause the convertible come to the good side and get the fj instead :) nothing against wranglers ( i would drive one especially an unlimited)

Hi,Roof designs vary widely, but a few characteristics are common to all convertibles. Roofs are affixed to the body of the vehicle and are usually not detachable. Instead the roof is hinged and folds away, either into a recess behind the rear seats or into the boot or trunk of the vehicle.

There was never an FJ convertible factory. There were some garish hackjobs that were made in its early model run and sold for a fortune on fleabay (44k vs a 26k 6spd 4x4).

There was a sliding canvas roof show truck and a pickup variant making the rounds, but that's all old news. The FJ Cruiser is for all practical purposes dead. I'm guessing Toyota will make them until they can't sell any more.
