Hunting season with a 4th gen 4runner....

I have been hunting some this season and the 04 sr5 4x4 is a nice rig for the job. I run it as a flat bed so the back has plenty of space for gear. I hunt on a few different wildlife management sites around central FL and the trails are easy. The hardest wheeling around here is deep water or super soft sand and once a road gets too nasty they shut it down and open another. Good management if you ask me. Not to mention that it's not a mud truck. Alot of hard packed with a few rutted soft sections today. Here is a pix or 2. Any other ADV runners out there?

It has a spacer lift with OME HD coils in the back. The front end is a bit under sprung for my likes. I wish it had more of a "can't bottom out" feeling. Wonder what coil overs feel like when you bounce the front end around? Here is a typical straight flat section that I used to turn around the rig. This road in the pix is pretty wide but some are much more narrow and overgrown.

Looks sweet !!

How go you have lights mounted ? On a bar of some sort or on the bumper ?

I really like that 3 n 3 lift. How are those tires performing? Much triming to get those to fit?

When I took those pix I was in the Lake George WMA - just north of 40 on rt 11 west of Ormond. I could go 20 more and be in Oclala National Forest but those trails get so narrow in places and I was just looking for a 1/2 day in the woods.

Love the Goodyear ATS's so much so that I don't run a 5th - no trimming needed but just a little rub on the inner plastic at full lock. I wish I could get the front one inch higher?

More like a 3/5 - I have the OME HD coils and part of my old spacer in the back. Loaded up with the motorbike/gear it's perfectly level.

Lights are directly on the bumper with a little backing plate and big round washer for stability. Had them on for 4 drama free years.

If you look close I also have some side lights and a big back up light added. Very usefull at night off road or even in town(hehe).

Nice backup light setup. What kind of light and how did you connect it.

I started by relocating the tow plug stuff to the inner frame rail in order to clean up the look of the back. Just a simple Auto Zone $14 light. I put the switch in the spare switch spot on left side of the dash. I used the bolt that came with the light and used the hole in the bottom of the frame and the sq hole on the side to drop the nut in. Easy mod and helps see at night with the tint.
