06 to 09 Upgrade
 

Hi guys, hope all of you had great holidays.
A few months ago I made a post regarding the lease end of my 06 Runner, and asked you guys about what you guys thought could be negotiated with the dealer on a buy out price on my Runner.
Well I did sat down with Toyota and the dealer and turns out they can't do much to better the price of the buy out on my Runner.
I have been thinking of either keeping my runner or upgrading to an 09 and getting some OEM upgrades while ordering the 09. The nice thing of getting the 09 is i think they have an offer of 0% interest in 09 models. I'm not 100% sure is still available but sounds like a good plus while getting a new Runner.

I think I can take off my 06 runner, most of the accessories I added. Lamps, jaos skid plate, Yakima load warrior, xenon upgrade headlamps and intake.

I have a couple of questions for when I order the 09.

Do the sport edition models are the only ones that come standard with the hood scoop?
Can I get leather seats on the Sport edition PKG?
Is the navigation system compatible with the Ipod?

Hi, I can answer a question or two for you.The Sport is the only one that comes with the scoop and leather is only factory offered on the Limited.I've read several posts about people having leather installed ''after market'' though. Sorry but Nav. and Ipod questions are above my inteligence level :confused:

The 0% APR was valid till 01/07. They have the standard rates of 6.9% for a Credit Score of 740+. I have an 08 Runner and saw a sport 09 at the dealer. The 09 sounds little different. I don't know if it has to do some thing with the sport models. Mine is a Limited.

I am in the EXACT same position.

My lease is up feb 9th.

I've run a lot of numbers and am just going to buy mine out.

The 0% was for left over 08's , there are plenty and can get great deals.

What are your thoughts so far ?

My 06 has 55k on it , it's basically set up the way I like it , my buyout is in the wholesale range of pricing , not great but it's there.

I was told no 09's are being released until 08's are gone. They are being held at port. (just what I've been told)

My SR5 has the Liqui-Cell leather seats and double decker cargo so I know you can order them any way you want pretty much. Mine was, as far as I can tell, ordered by one of the dealers at a dealership to drive as their own "demo". (basically the dealer's free ride for just under 10K miles). They order them with a few luxury items factory installed on a cheaper model, drive them around, let customers drive it, then sell it just before it hits 10K miles and order a new one. Odd to have a SR5 model with the leather, double decker, door sill trim, and the black marble dash accents, but not come with a sunroof!

I wouldn't get the 2009...the minor changes on it would bother the heck out of me.

Thanks for the info guys, I thought the 0 apr deal was in general. I'm going to vist a dealer today and see what they have left for 08. I think what I would enjoy the most out of a different 4runner from the one I have currently is the sunroof and a less eye catching color( maybe a white-silver for the new runner).
I did some math yesterday and It would only make a little sence to get a new runner if the APR is 0%.
My runner has currently 38k miles, and has most of the upgrades I wanted to do on it, apart of getting new tires and probably an ARB bumper.
The upgrades on the 09 as you say are not that impresive other and can be easily cover by better aftermarket stuff.
