hurry up with those other mods :whipping2
I wanna see! |
Good looking rig!!!
I got the 3/2 level kit from Toytec, think its actually a 3/1.5. I am looking to run the same size tire. Let me know what you get to fit, what trimming you had to do etc. I will do the same. Looks like we are the 1st ones to attempt to mod this thing out a little. Good luck. |
I just bought an SR5 yesterday. I was thinking about buying the crossbars, but now I may just take it off. Looks good, thanks for the idea.

Do you by chance have any before and after pics?
Thanks |
I can't decide whether the Limited needs extra fender flares or not..it looks like it's missing something (aside from the roof rack in this case! lol). Maybe I'm just too used to the 4th Gen.

Now its time to lift the guy ;)

I did change out the shifter over the weekend to a B&M leather one that I had on a Porsche 911. I couldn't get used to the new shift knobs/slabs in the 5th's. <a href="http://s420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/gharper60/?action=view¤t=Picture.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/gharper60/Picture.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> |
The new shift knob looks way better. Don't know what Toyota was thinking with that 2nd gen Tundra shift knob.

Here's a question...seeing that the 4WD changer is right next to the cup holder, do you suppose it would be easy to fashion a protective device to go over the changer? Only I'd be scared my starbucks would go flying and spill all over it....with the old 3rd Gen stick shift 4WD that wasn't a problem because of the leather skirt thing, and of course the 4th Gen had it up by the ignition.

Harper7 just got the new tires on. I am running 275/60R20. With a Toytec 3" spacer up front and new Toytec 2" rear coils. The fronts do rub under full lock and compression. I need to trim inner fender wells a little and should be fine. Let me know how you work out.

Two local 4wheel shops wouldn't put my front Toytec 2 inch spacer on this morning because of my XREAS shocks on my Limited.Well the one would do it but did'nt know how and scared me away when they said I would have to go to the dealer to have them filled back up with oil when they were done! :frisky: I am a mechanic and usually do all my own work anyways ,just been working 12 hour days and my garage is'nt heated. I will put them in myself this week end. As far as tires, I ordered 275/70/17 BFG AT KO's . They came in today and have a appointment for tomorrow at 1pm. to put them on.I thought 285/70 17's would rub in the front.I have 1.25 inch spidertrax wheel spacers in the front to go on also. Did you have a 4th Gen? The inner fender wells on these 5th's are alot thinner then 4th's. Almost paper thin and then they ribbed them to get extra strength. Those ribs in the front are where they looked like they will probably rub so I went with 275's instaed of 285's. |
Looks good without the roof rack. Why did Toyota even bother putting a roof rack on without running boards? How can you easily get stuff on and off without them?
