Air Bag Warning Light
The Passenger Air Bag Warning light on our 2006 4Runner flashes when the key is removed from the ignition switch.
Before I call the dealer,, does anyone have any thoughts about the problem? Thanks, Tom O |
On the passenger side, there's a seat belt warning light which looks like the usual seat belt icon on the driver's side. There's also a little security system light that looks like a little car with a key in the middle of it, and that's supposed to flash when you take the key out of the ignition to let you know the engine immobilizer is active. (The keys have chips in them, so only a key with a registered chip will start the engine.) Could that be it?

Is it the yellow airbag on/off light or a red light?

Thanks for the replies toto and Mark86. I think you both recognized my problem. It is a RED light and it does resemble a CAR. Don't know why I never noticed it flashing before. Of course, its my wife's tank. My old '95 Maxima has a similar flashing "security" light.

Same problem
My 2017 4Runner just started doing the same thing. Passenger airbag light starts blinking as soon as I pull the key out. Have you figured anything out yet?
