Alarm light killing battery?
i have an 88 and my battery was pretty old so i had replaced it, my runner has been sitting for about a month, i take it out every now and then to run errands, my battery died again. Could my alarm light kill my battery in that time? and if not what sounds like my problem?

Although small, the constant drain from the clock, stereo, alarm, and any other accessories could drain the battery after a month of sitting.

ok thanks thats what im hoping for, could have a short somewhere?
|
Doubtful. If there was a short circuit somewhere it would drain the battery much faster if it didn't blow a fuse first.
If you want to check for abnormal current drain, disconnect the positive battery cable and connect an ammeter in series between the cable and battery terminal. With everything Off, a currrent drain greater than 0.050 Amps (50 mA) could be a problem. |
ok thanks man
