as you can see I have already painted the engine compartment to the new body color. I replaced the clutch with a luk/daikin heavy duty clutch, master and slave. other mods include bolted motor mounts, electric fan.
curently trying to work out a few bugs with the engine it ran but really rich while adjusting a few things now it wont start but Im just going to go back thru things till I figure it out.
next on the list is a v6 brake upgrade I already have most everything I need just waiting on that step. from there will be suspention, 1.5 ball joint spacers, new ball joints and ca bushings, idler arm still trying to decide on the rear suspention.then on to paint and apperance. I have started a few mods in that area

thanks the half top is not an original idea of mine I seen a pic of one on another site and loved it, had a spare top that had been abused by its po and decided to give it a shot it needs some stiffening up around the back but I had to cut it to figure out what I would have to do to brace it up.

need some help, I had it running but it was running really rich, in trying to figure that out it has gotten worse to the point it will not start, pulled the codes and got a 6 and 11 one is TPS the other is igniter. so I have changed the coil igniter assembly to a know working unit, changed the AFM to a known working part, checked for spark at plugs checked good, checked for fuel at the return line good stream while cranking, checked TPS checked ok, made sure dizzy was timed correctly. not sure where to go from here. the no start issue came after cleaning the AFM and throttle body. could really use some help, thanks in advance.

Have you checked your 4 grounds on the motor? A bad ground could interfere with your ecu.

wow its been a long time since Ive updated this sorry, the sad thing is it doesnt look a lot different LOL. Ive been working at it as much as I can but with the adition of my 97 runner i have had to spit my time, along the the purchase of the 97 came a change of plans for this project, I wheel my new runner and am really happy with how it performs so my direction for this one has turned into more of a restoration, I want to make it a nice clean dependable runner that I can dd and just enjoy that way. Im still not driveing but I did getting the running issues sorted out and have been focussing on body work mostly. ok so a few pics.

these pics were took not long after I intalled my b.j. spacers and did the zuk mod Im really happy with how it sits now.

the rest of the body should be coming along a lot quicker now, I decided to go back with the runner tail gate instead of the p/u gate that I had started to use, Im trying to put one together and should have it together soon.

A few other things Ive done, Installed mechanical oil presure and water temp gauges in my sr5 cluster.

this has been a painfully slow build up to this point but Im really hoping to make some big progress soon I really want to start driveing it and enjoying it rather than just working on it. thanks for checking in.

RiFF RaFF 07-14-2012 09:01 AM

Did you get the rough running problems sorted out with the engine? If so - what was the cause(s)?

Also - "Slow and steady wins the race!"

Will be watching for more updates.
