4 runner died help

So im on my way to work and i get a tug from my truck, then one more. Drive itfor another 1/2 hour and stop to get gas and as im at the top of the exit ramp it just shuts off. I have complete power and it turns over fine but nothing. In the past 2 weeks i have replace the contacts in my starter, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and lower seals. I have know idea why it stopped but now it wont start. Any ideas? Thanks

Gunny

Well I would automatically look at the parts you've replaced. Did you notice the car overheat? Did you install the parts or were they installed at a shop?

since you were stopping for gas, is possible that you ran out of gas before you got to the gas station? Did the CEL come on?

Well it turned out to be a sensor.. I will find out which one when i pick it up from the shop. Still had a 1/4 of tank of gas.

Had a very similar thing happen years ago in a Camry, but little did I know that the fuse that controlled the gas gauge and blown... "thought" I had a 1/3 of a tank... :biggrin2:

ah ha, good to know. there is another thread about "help, my 4runner not running right" and there was some thought of it being a CSPS, but upon more though i thought that if one went bad the vehicle wouldnt run at all, at least that has been my experience with BMWs Audis and VWs... once they go bad the motor dies and wont even run. i wasnt sure about toyotas but this confirms my suspicions
