1st & 2nd gen 4-runner tech (factory service manual and common fixes)

A lot of people are asking how to troubleshoot this, or find that wire, or how to correctly install this part... The link below is for all 4runner Factory Service Manuals. They are a free download. You can put them on a CD or do what I did. I printed out all 750 pages (double sided) and put them in 2 2" "D" Ring binders and tabbed them with dividers. It makes navigation through the books very easy and now I can have the ultimate haynes or chilton manual in the garage sitting on my work bench whenever I need to troubleshoot something.

The FSM's that were here are no longer available through TTORA. See the thread below for a homie hook up on FSM's. Think of it as a "Pay it Forward" system. Keep these FSM's floating around and hook a buddy up if they need a copy.

Nice. 'Bout time some one made this a sticky.

SUBTEGRAL 09-06-2011 07:45 PM

I had already downloaded the PDF FSM for my 1988 T4R 3VZ-E 4x4 from that same site, but it seems to only cover 4-cylinders ... am I right or wrong about this?

I want the FSM for the 1988 3VZ-E.

Someone help? ..

1988 was the first year of the 3VZE 3.0L V6.

I just got the original Toyota FSM for my 4Runner in the mail. :)

Just imported the '88 runner FSM into iBooks on my iPad, now i can jump to a page almost instantly, and zoom into a particular diagram with a couple of finger swipes, it's the most practical use I've found for the iPad yet.

Hey SV, stick this link in your OP, willya?

Erik's Toyota Differential info

It comes up all the time, and I get tired of ransacking my bookmarks every time it needs posted.

SV_Dude 03-21-2012 03:03 PM

Done! If anyone else has good info let me have it and I'll add it to my first post.
