Unhappy Melted Rear ABS/Speed sensor wires! What gauge?

I had an exhaust break off at the top of the hump that goes over the rear axle. Exhaust vented directly against bottom of floor (spare tire removed).

Well, about 2 inches or so from that spot is where the rear speed sensor/abs wires run over the axle. They are melted!

About 6" or so is completely bare wires. Of course I have the Christmas Tree dash with basically ALL the lights lit.

We've repaired the exhaust with new pipe, but does anyone know what gauge these wires are, how many conductors to each wheel, and if they are carrying analog or digital signals?

I will need to add a section of wire and want to order the right kind (2P, etc).

Any tips would be appreciated.

No one know anything about these wires?

From parts listings online, 2 wire or 3 wire sensors available. Wire is $178/each ($223 msrp).

I just cut them off for now. Lights are one, but vehicle runs.

No one has ever had a problem with wheels speed sensors for ABS?

My plan now is to cut off a section of wire to determine if it is 2 wire or 3 wire sensor, the wire gauge, and the approx insulation thickness.

I'll order a couple of feet of wire and 8 waterproof connectors. Make a small harness and plug it in.

Anyone interested in pics and info on the repair?

Wheel speed sensors tend to be a little finicky when the sensor is together with the set of wires. Just buy a new ABS sensor. You can get them decently cheap online.
