Anyone's ABS too intrusive?

I have a '96 4x4 and I think the abs in too intrusive. I'm not saying there is a malfunction, just that I wish it would be less intrusive, especially on wet or slippery surfaces. Does anyone know of a way to reprogram the computer or some trick to make it 'chill out'.

Get a set of REVO tires, they provide better traction and reduce the use of ABS.

You have a '96. How old (or bald) are your tires? Tire traction/grip has a direct impact on the ABS/VSC system's ability to control wheel spin. Sound like you need skins.

I thought the same thing until i bought new tires. So far, that has seemed to do the trick.
