'05 4runner sport - rear window wiper

To all,

The knob for actuating the rear window wiper has 2 positions for squirting water. Using the position all the way down squirts the washer fluid only. Using the upper postion the washer fluid squirts and the wiper is activated. Is it normal in the down position to squirt water only with out the wiper activated?

Thanks,
Skip

Yes, both my 2003 and 2005 did this. I don't understand the idea of this setup because don't you need to wipe the fluid away?

I figure it was the pre-lube option. You wet it down and then wipe it up.

You could use this for the old trick where you remove your sprayer and aim it behind the car so that you can spray people behind you or sideways to hit people on the sidewalk.

Haven't done that since high school.

I think you are right about the ice removal, but that's just a guess.
