Auto Zone found the 02028 part for $18, fixed the flashing AC light and no heat problem. Thanks for the great advice in this forum.

A/C Light Blinking on 2003 LTD

You guys rock!! Bought a relay switch from autozone for $13 and installed
It on the "MG CLT" spot. Make sure it is not the AC spot!! Working like a charm.

2003 T4R 197,000 miles. Thanks!

Just wanted to bump this topic again... same thing happened to me as it did everyone else on the thread (at 135k miles). Panicked at first, then came here and did 2 minutes of searching.

A quick Google led me to a replacement part at my local O'Reilly's... $16 and 5 min later, my AC was back up and working.

Thanks to everyone for their help on this!

I had this problem in 2011. I went in here and found the answer. I bought the new relay and it worked fine. Now, 5 years later, it blinks again. Should I buy another relay or is it something else and not the relay? Thanks!

Even Mr Google had no love so maybe there aint one in the 5th gen. Most AC pros evacuate and the add back the correct weighted amount. I've always used the gauge on the refill bottles. At 249k miles the AC is still strong in my 04.

2018 May 1st and my a/c light began flashing along with the absence of a /c. Found your post and substituted a relay to test - and ...it worked. Bought a new relay for C$48 - and all is prefect! Very many thanks for your post Greatly appreciated.

I have a 04 4runner sport with the AC light blinking. I have replaced the relay switch twice just to make sure the first one I baught was not faulty. The light still blinks. the system is fully charged and the compressor clutch kicks on for about 5 seconds then shuts off and then the light in the cab starts blinking. Can anyone direct me on what to try next? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is an old thread but one to which I never said "thank you". I was driving across country, moving from Md. to Az. in the summer of 2013 when the A/C light started flashing and no A/C. I went to a dealer in Knoxville, Tn, my first night of stopping and was told my compressor was shot, new one was $1200 installed . Decided to go online and research the issue and found this thread. Swapped two of the relays in the box and once again had A/C. Called the same dealer and they said such a failure was very rare but the relay would be $180 to replace . Went to the Advance Auto down the street from the hotel, bought the aftermarket equivalent for $9 and is has worked to this very day. So because of this forum, went from a BS quote of $1200 to a slightly less BS quote of $180 to $9. I really needed that A/C through Texas, NM, and Arizona. So even though it's many years late, my thanks to the people who started this thread and figured out this problem to begin with.
