Toyota Platinum extended service contracts...

For those of you that would still be interested, I still have them available. Toyota did have a price increase, but it was very slight.

All are $0 Ded.

6yr/75kmi... $500+tax (6%)
7yr/75kmi... $585+tax

6yr/100kmi... $750+tax
7yr/100kmi... $890+tax

Thank you to everyone that has purchased them and if you ever have any questions, feel free to call or email anytime. (It may take a few days, but I'll get back to you.)

Question

I am really interested in purchasing an extended warranty. Right now I have 62,000 miles an soon my extended warranty will expire. Do I wait until it expires or buy a new extended warranty a few months or thousand miles before?

Are these extended warranties transferrable in the event the vehicle is sold?

What all is covered, what is NOT covered? Are these honored by any Toyota dealer?

I can definitely vouch for Shaun. I bought a 7yr/100kmi agreement from him last year. They are real Toyota extended warranty offering's backed by Toyota so you can go to any Toyota dealership and receive hassle free warranty service without having to pay and deal with getting reimbursed. I ended up buying from him becuase I couldn't get anyone in Phx to come close to his price.

I would highly recommend going with him. They are fully transferrable as well.

Karl

PS. I have no affiliation with Mr McKinsey whatsoever other than being a satisfied customer.

Yes, it is honored by all Toyota dealers since it's sold by the finance arm of Toyota, Toyota Financial Services. Unlike third party warranties, you don't pay out of pocket first and deal with claims later to get your money back (like a mail-in rebate).

Check out the info on Toyota Financial Services and click the drop down. Your dealer should have a brochure with the list of what Platinum covers highlighted in red and the standard bumper to bumper warranty in black. There's a link above the drop down that says, if it's not on that list it's covered by Platinum.

IMO, the Platinum warranty is a great way to protect your investment. With a Toyota it's not mechanical components that you have to worry about, but the electronics are expensive to replace (ECU, VSC, navigation headunit, etc). A sunroof replacement, that alone is over $1000 and if such a repair occurs, it'll pay for Platinum by itself.

Good luck.

I would also like to buy another extended warranty since mine is about to expire. I was told by Toyota that I couldn't do this since I had to have bought this during the standard warranty period and not during the extended warranty period. However, since I already have an extended I just wanted to further extend this. Can this be done or can I buy a new extended warranty? The Toyota rep told me that no company (automobile as well as other product manufacturers) offers an additional warranty for purchase after the standard factory warranty has expired which is not true.

Hi,

Newbie/lurker here. This actually looks like a RARE deal in an extended warranty, but this troubles me from www.toyotafinancial.com :

1. What state do you live in?
Please note: Toyota Financial Services vehicle protection programs are not available in the following areas: AL, AR, FL, GA, HI, LA, MS, NC, OK, PR, SC, and TX

That looks like southeast toyota?

So will a warranty purchased from the link here be vailid in Florida? Any problems?

(I personally would wait till near the end of the 3/36 warranty before buying. - What if I wrecked the vehicle?)

Warranty not available

"1. What state do you live in?

The question is "Will a dealer in those states honor a warranty backed by Toyota?"

They are supposedly not available in California from out of state dealers... but this is unenforecable.

I have purchased warrantys from out of state and there has never been an issue when it came to repairs!

You take your car in - they look it up in the computer, if you have a warranty and the repair is covered...no problem!

Use the phone number in his first post. I called him and we took care of everything over the phone-- no problems at all. A few days later I received a FedEx with all the paperwork and receipt.

Thanks, Shaun!

yup, just give Shaun a call.

Before I found out about Shaun, I called almost all the dealership around here and the cheapest I got was $1,300. There was even one dealer that quoted me $2,000 and would help me out by giving me a $300 discount.

Thanks Shaun

I am very interested but since I live in California I do not know if this can work as I found the following statement online about Selling Extended Service Contracts online in the state of California

" The State of California has passed legislation that prohibits quoting or selling extended service contracts (extended warranties) to California residents by anyone other than the selling automobile dealer. In order to comply with this legislation of your state, we are unable to provide price quotes or offer to sell extended service contracts to California residents. "

Sometimes I feel like a broken record....

AND WHO IS GOING TO COME AFTER YOU? The warranty Police?

It works like this. You buy a warranty FROM ANY DEALER. They put your VIN in the computer...YOUR COVERED!!
And as Clem18 has stated...he has bought one and he lives in San Jose.

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!
