Help! Insanely squeaky front suspension! OME BP-51

Hello all and thanks in advance for any advice or info!

I've got a 5th Gen, T4R SR5, 40K miles

Suspension: OME BP-51 system front and rear

My problem is over the course of the past week I've developed a loud squeak or creaking noise and I believe it's isolated to the passenger front. The OME suspension system has been quiet and flawless for the 20K miles that I've owned it and was installed by the previous owner.

The noise sounds like an old metal bed frame squeaking and as previously stated it's been getting worse over a weeks time. It makes the noise anytime there is any movement with the cab and can be duplicated just by getting in and out of the vehicle.

I've already tried greasing, lubricating, cleaning etc. any and all parts of that passenger front suspension system including all control arm bushings and ball joints....and the noise hasn't changed!

The vehicle has been lightly used and all the bushings throughout the front end look good. I can't pin point exactly where the noise is coming from because it's so loud and vibrates all the components in that area.

Since I've already tried lubricating everything without success I'm left wondering if it's the shock itself and maybe something internal with it? The vibrations from the squeak are definitely resonating within the coil and the shock but I can't tell if it's moreso than what I'm feeling thru the control arms at same time.

Thanks again in advance for any advice or info! Jim-

man, my 2014 SR5 Premium with about 38,800 miles just started doing this, only from the drivers side. Stock suspension with a spacer lift.

truck rides great, just makes that squeak over small bumps and when making left turns.

i can shake the truck (standing on the running board, and shaking it like a monkey) and i can get it to replicate the sound.

did you happen to get anything figured out?

On my former truck, the "old bed" creaking was caused by a worn out ball joint.

And check the shocks, a blown out shock sounds just like that too.

Check and grease/ lube the rear suspension too... I was hunting down a squeak that I was positive came from the front end but ended up being my rear LCA. Sometimes those noise just travel.

Did you ever figure this out? I’ve been eliminating things and I’m starting to think it’s the coilover.

Unhappy

HELP! I’ve been having this same exact problem. 2015 SR5 with OME BP-51s, Camburg UCAs, Drit King LCAs. The squeaks are coming from the front end, both sides and are very loud and constant, it’s driving me up the wall. It started about a month ago and I’ve been chasing it with lubricants and grease and most recently time and money.

I just replaced the bushings on the upper control arms and brand new ball joints pressed into the uppers. ZERO change. I felt sure it was the bushings.

The only thing I have found to make the squeaks go away is to douse the front end with the hose. It goes away for a day or two and then right back to Squeaks McGee. The local shop said it was coming from “the off-road coilovers” Any information or past experience would be valuable. I’ll sell the car if I can’t make it go away, it’s that bad.

I am reliably told the problem is the heim joints on BP51 shocks, which is the bottom of the shock, in what I would have thought was a bearing/bushing. Have not figured out how to order a new one and replace though.....
Check out this great fix video. ARB BP51 Suspension Squeak | How to Replace the Spherical Bearings and fix the Problem. - YouTube
