Rear end highway whine/noise

I've read some older threads on this, but wanted to follow up in case some of those members have gotten further info on this. Mine's a 2019 TRD OR with around 27k miles.

Starting around 65 mph I'm getting a slight whine seemingly from the rear end when maintaining speed or lightly accelerating. If I left off throttle it stops right away and when accelerating I can't really hear it due to ending noise.

I've read in previous threads that this is somewhat common and there wasn't any consensus on whether it's 'normal' or not. Any recent experiences?

Another theory I have is related to skid plates. I started noticing the noise around the time I installed a full set of aluminum skids. I wonder of they are bouncing more sound back into the cabin. I could remove them and test, but meh. Too much work.

2019 Limited 4x4 here with 21k miles. Same issue with the whine at greater than 65mph or so since new. During acceleration and during constant throttle at approx. 65mph and above, a whine can be heard from what sounds like the read end. Let up off the throttle and coast and it goes away until throttle is applied again. Typical in city driving and speeds of 55 or so the whine is not present.

Read a lot of threads and I'm not convinced whether it’s “normal” or not.
