Please Help: Strange Electrical Issue - Liftgate

Hey all, hoping for some guidance with a damned frustrating issue I'm having with my 2010 Limited. Not car-repair savvy so please bear with me.

Basically, battery dies somewhat randomly but seemingly associated with keeping the liftgate open for brief periods of time. Most recent example: at grocery store, opened gate to load groceries, drove home, opened gate to unload groceries. Then drove to softball practice for my daughter's team, opened gate to unload gear, then closed it. After practice, dead battery. Have to jump it to start, but then will start fine for weeks after - until it doesn't.

This sort of thing has been happening for years. Used to like listening to music at times with engine off and gate up ("party mode") don't do that anymore, as dealership tried to tell me I was causing the dead battery by playing the radio. All interior lights set to off.

I have had sunroof drain flooding issues a couple times, with the electrical funkiness they cause. Battery checks out fine. Dealership could not replicate the problem so they don't think there is one. At times during a dead battery, have heard a motor running in the area of the liftgate - might that be the locking motor that is draining the battery? Any suggestions? Thanks much.

Put a volt meter between the negative battery terminal and the cable. Check for parasitic draw in dc amps. open the hatch, use the locks and see if you can spot any. Also pulling the fuses wil point to a circuit or component that might be the cause.
