AC light Flashes

I noticed on the way home today the the AC light (where I push to turn on AC) started flashing, and the AC quit blowing cold air. It did this for about 3 minutes, then the light turned back solid and I got cold air again.

What's going on?

Any ideas?

I think I figured out what's going on. I had a theory and tested it to be true.

It's raining out here pretty good, and I was thinking that we drove through a good bit of water right before it happened. I figured the belt was getting too we, and slipping, and therefore thinking that there's a problem. That would also explain why it came back on shortly thereafter.

I tested with apitcher of water, and was able to reproduce the same event, so I'm satisfied that that's the explanation...
