4WD Indicator Lights?

The 4WD indicator lights on my 05 V6 Sport are not coming on when I put it in 4WD. Not sure if 4WD system is working or not. About 2 months ago I had a new receiver installed. I don't know if they could have left something off. Everything worked fine before this. Trying to decide if I should return it to them or take to dealer. I would appreciate any help!

When you put it in 4WD, you should here a slight clicking. That's the sound of the solenoid engaging the 4WD. Also you should be able to feel the difference when in 4WD compared to being in 2WD, I can anyways. Maybe the light in the dash is just dead.

What about when you lock the center diff when you're supposedly in 4WD, does that light come on? Can you put it in 4LO and does that light come on?

I'm assuming your truck is under warranty, why not bring it in? I understand it's a PITA, but at least it's covered under warranty.

I don't hear any clicking noise. I guess I really can't tell if it's going into 4WD because I've only used it a few times. I tried the things you mentioned and still no lights. If the shop that installed my stereo did something wrong that won't be covered under the warranty. Thanks for the reply!

When they removed the silver center dash trim piece, they probably disconnected the 4wd switch. This switch should be illuminated when the headlights are on, it will be an easy diagnostic to see if this is the case.

I thought I would give an update on my problem. Friday I scheduled an appointment with the dealer to get my 4WD problem and driver's seat movement looked at. Well yesterday I decided to try and disassemble my truck and see if the 4WD switch was connected. It was connected but one of the pins inside the connector was bent. Straightened out the pin and put everything back together. 4WD system is now working! I knew those damn installers had something to with it. I'm keeping my appointment to see if they can fix my seat. I've noticed a few people have the same issue. Will update later.
