Replaced muffler, now shifting problems. Help?

Replaced muffler, now shifting problems. Help?

Question, I replaced the stock muffler on the .02 4Runner to the Flowmaster 40 Delta
and my shifting has been weird since. It takes a while for the gears (automatic)
to shift from lower to a higher gear when the engine is cold. Specially when the
truck sat at the parking lot for a the day. I noticed this when I changed the muffler.
What's the problem, what should I do?

Thanks...

Well when you 4runner is cold the transmission delays the shifting a bit to help warm up the fluids. That is normal. You probably noticed it more after the flowmaster is on cause you can now hear your exhaust.

I never really noticed it then, maybe because it was not as loud as it is now.

I don't know about the Delta Series, but i have the Flowmaster 40 series. It sounds really good, when it's at idle it sounds like a V8, driving down the road it's not that loud but if the music is on i can barely hear it.

When I start the engine, it sounds like a stock Harley. When idle, sounds like a Harley, when at 5-10MPH you can hear the engine roar, but not as loud as a souped up Harley. When running 30-40MPH it is freaking loud and it reverbrates inside the cab. I guess you get what you want. LOUD! Hella Loud. I had the Flowmaster 50 Delta on my 95 Tacoma and it was not as loud as the 40, so if you really don't mind LOUD and if you have no little kids, then 40 is good. If you have a lady or man that might be sensitive to LOUD humm, then think of getting the 50 series. I like the sound of the 40 but sometimes it annoys me and I have to turn up the factory Yota stereo. NICE distorted sound outta them factory speakers. I have the 2002 4Runner. NICE!

Peace y'all. I'm out...

Aloha!!!!!
