UPDATE: Damn Seat Creak/POP is back again
Had it checked LAST Summer by dealer...they couldn't duplicate it...and strangely enough it disappeared...until this past week.
It's back with a vengance. I hate it.
ANy suggestions? Is this seriouisly warranting a seat replacement? Can't I just lube it or something?
My Warranty is almost done (4000kms left).
UPDATE:
2 seconds in and it makes the popping noise. Shop Foreman, who went with me, said I'm ordering you a new seat frame, and we'll take it from there he said.
He said a ton of the manual seats have this issue, but he hasn't seen many electronic ones (like mine).
Lets see if the new seat frame works. I know some of you guys have had issues with just the frame replacement, but he is a good guy and I'll take his road first.

You can check out all my posts/threads. I'm sick of this low-quality crap. I had the entire seat replaced in December and the pops and cracks and movement were back by April.
Do NOT let them get away with the seat-frame replacement. That won't solve anything. Make them replace the entire seat.
Check out my threads and posts. I had to sue Toyota over the seat issue in my 2006.
Because of this, I will never again buy a Toyota, and I've pretty much been loyal to them since I could drive (27 years ago).

Don't walk, run to your dealer and report the issue. As coolpop mentioned, have them replace the entire seat.
You might want to consider the extended warranty as replacing the seat out of warranty will be costly.

Made an appointment with the dealer for Saturday afternoon.
Any tricks to ensure the seat does POP?
They asked me to ensure I stick around so I can demonstrate the squeak, which his cool, but the damn thing is so erratic I don't know if it will do it!

I would drive the truck around for a bit and verify it's making the noise before dropping it off at the dealer.
Does your drivers seat squeak and pop when the truck turns? Left? Right? Both? Goes over a bump? Flexes over a bump?
I'd figure out as best you can how and when it makes the noise(s) then when you drive the tech around take them over a road where you'll be able to reproduce the noise.
I hope that helps. That's the procedure I sued every time I brought my truck in for the seat issue.

OK you guys are gonna love (or hate) this.
I brought my 08 Urban in to the dealer on Wednesday for the creaking/moving/popping seat...again. When I brought it in, the noises and movement were very sporadic but nonetheless annoying. I got there at 8:30 a.m. At noon, the service advisor says hmmm, we can't replicate the problem, let's take a ride. Sure. We get in and within 30 seconds there are 2 popping sounds. I look at the guy as if to say, are you kidding me?
They keep it for another 4 hours, until 4:00...and they give me a loaner. I swear, that day just dragged. But hey, at least it will get fixed, right?
Guess again. Here comes the good part. The service advisor calls me Thursday at 5:00 and says "hey, our master tech has been working on your seat issue all day and just took it for a ride and (I am not making this up) IT IS A LOT LOT WORSE NOW." Swear. AND he wants me to come pick it up until they figure out what to do. They won't let me keep a loaner vehicle because "it is an annoyance issue, not a safety issue." Um, a moving seat sure is a safety issue. Whatever.
At least they were correct on one thing. The pops and creaks are indeed a whole lot worse. Now I have to drive it all weekend and it pops and creaks CONSTANTLY. All the damn time. WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED TO TOYOTA QUALITY???
I'm told that they contacted Toyota in California to get some pointers on what to do next, but the technical dept. is closed for the holiday and will reopen Monday morning. Now I'm stuck driving it and I'm furious. This issue many not annoy others as much as it does me, but it pisses me off to no end.
My two closest friends are 350 lbs. and 450 lbs. (that's why I hang with them, makes me look good) and their seats don't move, pop or creak. And my 450 lb buddy has a 1995 pick up with 200,000 miles.
Toyota quality at its finest.

Dude that sux.
At least they replicated the problem with the pop/creak.
I'm worried I won't be able to duplicate it...it's been a few days and very cool weather...so no pop/creak.
Hopefully it gets super warm tomorrow.

Well going in to the dealer in about an hour
It is NOT warm today, so I am worried it won't be act up,I'm supposed to take the tech out myself which is okay in my opinion.
Like does the dealership think I like to waste my day on a Saturday and Gas to make a problem up?

Hope it works for you, I really do. Mine was replaced twice on my 06 and it didn't do a thing to solve the problem.
Keep us posted.

What's the difference between getting the seat frame replaced vs the entire seat?
The frame is the guts, the rest is just cushioning, fabric, I figure?

UPDATE
Just got a call from the service advisor. He said they ordered me a brand new seat and it should be here within 5 days.
I think it's very cool of them to do that and not spend the next 6 months performing TSB's that don't work...but the seat was replaced once before and the problem came back.
We'll see....
