Water Damage?
I recently purchases my 2001 T4R and i absolutely love it. i bought it from carmax and they supposedly certify that everything is in working order and it has no previous damage. the only issue im having is that all of the lighting seems to be going out. the top brake light, left brake light, parking lights, interior dome light, the D, 4, 3, and 2 lights, the licence plate lights, and some of the back lights have all gone out since i purchased it. A friend of mine said it could be water damaged. i just wanted to get some other opinions and see if theres anything i can do or if it could be a problem in the central electrical system.

Maybe... What about coincidence? Are the new bulbs blowing out too?

i put new bulbs in the licence plate light and they simply didn't work. the rest of them im trying to decide on weather to replace just the burnt out ones, or if this happens often to go ahead and replace them all when ive already gotten it all opened up.

I would check the ground cables and check the voltage at the battery while it's running to make sure all is ok w/ the alternator/voltage regulator. Check it with climate control and all lights off (low-load condition). Be concerned if it's over about 14.8...

Definitely sounds like an electrical current issue. That many bulbs going out at or around the same time is too unlikely. I think the voltage should be just under 13 normally on the 3rd gen.

If it has water damage, check the bulb sockets for corrosion and pull the carpet back a bit and inspect the floor pans for rust. Sounds more like an eletrical gremlin IMO.
