Differing Air Velocity for Driver and Passenger Side Foot Air Vents?

Hey Folks,

I was in the rig waiting for my wife when I decided (why I don't know...)and put my hand down below where the heat is discharged to the feet. The temp was set to "High" and the Fan Speed to "High".

I noticed the passenger air velocity was almost 2x that of the Drivers.

What gives???

The fan/blower for the climate control system is located behind the glove box.

I need to remember to check on mine when I take it for a spin. I have noticed that just about on all settings, there's always air coming out of the side vents near the door and side window. My Camry does this as well. I think it's strange since both the 4R and Camry have dedicated side window outlets, unlike my Tacoma.

I know for home HVAC, unless the dampers are set properly the velocity is always greater in the rooms closest to the central furnance and AC.

I seem to have the same issue in my 08. Is there any damper or balance adjustment. I assure that you mean that since the blower is behind the glove box(Passenger side) that the shorter run means more air there??

Sounds like it is a normal characteristic.
