rear wiper. and warranty issues

Hello,

My 2008 has 1,000 miles left on the warranty. This morning, the rear wiper did not work. It won't move or spray.

I recently installed HIDs. Months ago, I hard-wired for a radar detector and had Crutchfield install a number of audio items. I don't see how any of these would affect the rear wiper, but I am wondering if the dealer might try to make a claim that they will not fix it under warranty because of any of this?

Also, is there any risk to them seeing my HIDs? Since they know they're illegal, they don't have any obligation to not let me leave until it's "fixed" or anything, do they?

Just making sure...

Thanks

Is the rear window fully closed? The wiper and defrost won't work if it's not fully closed.

At any point did you disconnect the battery? Is the auto up/down functionality of the rear window working? If you disconnected the battery and/or the auto function isn't working you need to normalize the window. To normalize the window, fully open the window and hold the down position for a few seconds; then close the window and hold the up position for a few seconds. Check to see if the auto up/down function is working. Now check the wiper.

thanks, Uneek. window was closed, but i hadn't normalized it after HID install. all is well. slightly embarrassing, but better here than in person at the dealership..
