ABS idiot light
Some of you know we just got a '97 4runner...
We are loving it!
There is one "quirk" which I'm not sure what it means.
I've never had a vehicle with ABS before, and typically I hate it (I drive race cars - I much prefer me controlling brakes...) anyway..
On the 4runner - while on the highway cruising for a few minutes the ABS light comes on. It goes off again once we slow down for a few minutes.
I don't yet have a service manual for it, so looking for thoughts/advice/etc.
FWIW, the brakes are fine - stopping distance is great, pads and shoes are almost new in condition, no pulling under braking, etc. I have not engaged the ABS on purpose yet but will probably do that this weekend to play....
Could this be heat related? or just a faulty sensor? or ??
Is there a quick way to look up a code?
Otherwise the truck is in beautiful condition.
