Angry No 4Runners in Russia or Ukraine Strange

Darn no Russians own 4Runners? Actually when i was in Ukraine I only saw the Landcruisers of all years, but no 4r's. I saw Rav4's and Isuzus, Jeeps very popular, but no 4runners. Odd??

I want to take mine there and just drive around, since nobody has one it would be a unique experience, but I guess someone might be interested in taking it away (free) So i probably won't take it there, sorry.

4Runners are not so popular in Russia, because of two things. First, Duty for 4Runner V6 is approx. $14000 and for V8 - $16000. Second. Toyota sells Land Cruiser Prado. Prado is exact copy of Lexus GX 470, but with V6, V8 (same as V6 and V8 4Runners') and Turbo Diesel. Also the price for Prado is equal to 4Runner. In these conditions people prefer to buy smaller brother of Lexus - Prado. Anyway, you can still find many 2nd and 3rd generations 4Runners. They are popular, but at least 4-5 years old.

The russians are buying a lot of the Hilux Surfs which come out of Japan.

The UK is now flooded with em, but generally 1st , 2nd and 3rd Generation.

That's true for the East part of Russia. West is full of Land Cruisers and old 4Runners. Land Cruiser is much more popular there because at the same price it gives you more comfort and features, plus a name "Land Cruiser".
If we would have Land Cruiser 120 Prado in the same price range as 4Runner here in Canada, I would have bought Land Cruiser too.

I was there last year. I saw GX-470, VW-Toureg and a damn Hummer-H2, but not a single 4-Runner not even 3-rd generation.

In Moscow quite often meet 4runner.

Basically, 2-3 gen. Less - 4gen.

But, 4gen began to emerge after 2006-2007y.
Therefore, both because of the high tax-dury (import) rates peopls prefer to buy the used vehicle.

Now import tax rates:
-For NEW(from 0 to 3 yr): USA->38k USD, RUS.TAX->23k USD.
-For 3yr OLD: USA->~24k USD, RUS.tX->14k USD (from 3 to 5 yr).

I.e. NEW 4Runner in Russia: 38+23+~3forship = 64k USD
3yr OLD = 41k USD.

Shits country

ps. im about LTD V6 4Runner.

V8 - take no sense. Since 2009, in the Moscow City region over 1 horse power to pay (vehicle tax) 150rub.(150/27.42 = 5.47 USD aprox.) Per year.

So, 1.4k USD (per year) for vehicle with V8 engine. No matter. Vehicle in the garage or on road.
4Runner with V6 - aprox. 670 USD per year.

V8 - consumes a lot of gasoline.
Regular gasoline (91 octane) in Moscow City region is now worth an avr. of 23 rubles per liter (actually, we do not have 91 oct., we have 76, 80, 92, 95, 98 octanes gasoline). That is, 3.17 USD for US gallon of "regular" gasoline.

According to Moscow City "standards" - expensive, especially for other regions of Russian Federation.

It is given that Mascaw aver. (worker, an engineer, an health worker) receives 600-1800 USD per month.

You also have to count that octane numbers are not the same in Europe and North America. Basic transition is:
Europe-------North America
92-------------87 (regular)
95-------------89 (mid range)
98-------------91 (premium)
xx-------------94 (super premium)
