Just did lockwood through Miller Jeep Trail last weekend and some camping. I would be way into this.

How modified is your 4Runner? I have read about/wanted to hit Miller Jeep trail but was under the impression it was beyond the capabilities of our trucks unless heavily modified.

How was it on the trail??

I just got my runner so I went in 100% stock and on pretty bald highway tires (my suspension and tires go on next weekend). It was pretty rough. I consider myself to be a pretty good offroad driver from offroading my Ranger, this had a couple of pretty difficult obstacles.

Lucky for me I went with a couple of guys with pretty heavily modified tacos, (they got stuck a coupe of times as well). I needed to use the tow strap once (bald tires), used spotters 3 times and had to stack some rocks 2 times for clearence.

Overall, I shredded one of my tires (which were on the way out anyway), took some chunks out of the others, and took a couple of dingers on the skids and step sides (being replaced by sliders soon so I didn't care as long as I didn't slam). One of the tacos blew his CV boot, but the angle was way too gnarly to begin with. If you go, definitely go with a well equipped crew/recovery gear, the trail is worth it. Just don't blast through it.

10/10 doing it again when I get the suspension, tires and sliders on in a couple of weeks.

Wow sounds like a real trail! I have a lift, sliders, skids, larger tires etc and that still sounds kind of daunting!

@mwray8909 did mine. Send him a pm. I learned enough watching/helping that I was able to adjust my own afterward.

Sorry, I've been a bit out of touch from the forum for a week or so, vacation and I bought this project teardrop trailer!

We still need to plan a meet up!

Generally Thursday's are my best week day as I'm usually off. Otherwise a Saturday night would work for me. Plenty of great Goleta brews around that I'm sure would work for a lot / meeting area. My childhood BFF is one of the managers at m.Special in Goleta he'd let us park there as long as we drank beer too!

My boy Jeff at Airport Motors in Goleta did mine. He does everything on my cars. Old school straight shooting type, might at first say he doesn't do it, but for cash if you bring him the parts he'll put them on.
