Berdoo Canyon Rd
Has anyone gone on this road lately? I'm looking into going next week and any tips would be helpful. Not traveling with any other cars so I won't have anyone to pull me out. I'm also still in the process of acquiring recovery gear and what would be the most helpful to get first for this run?
Between Hi lift jack, air compressor and deflators, or tred's

Been part way down it
I believe
@ mgosts
has experience in that trail.
I ran into him coming up (Palm Springs) as I was going down from Joshua Tree. I turned around part way through it and a brand new VW Tiguan was coming down the trail . I'm sure the VW had clearance problems.
Hopefully he can give you a first hand account.

Did it stock suspension
Did this a couple months ago in a stock suspension all the way from Joshua tree to the main road (can't remember the name) past the BLM shooting area. There were 2 areas (steps) that were a little sketch and I had the rig teetering on 3 wheels briefly. We spotted each other through the 1st one. I would definitely recommend having a passenger spot on the 1st one, but you could do it on your own if you walk it and pick your line carefully.
You won't need treds there. Deflators and a compressor would be nice, but I ran at full psi since we thought it would be milder than It was. Airing down would have been more comfortable.

Hey davester00. Yep, wife and I drove up on Valentine's day in February. Recovery gear is not necessary unless you make a questionable decision, deflating tires will make it a much more comfortable ride, but not required. Photo is davester00 in the background and the stock VW Touareg coming by. This was just a tight turn and Touareg was just driving through. Made davester00 back up I believe.
Easy drive. Couple rocky areas...see my avatar.

Air compressor in general if you have a pic one.
Berdoo Canyon is in my backyard.. I could give up to the min trail info.. lol.
Going up it is much better than going down its a fun get your feet wet kinda trail. But there is a bunch of fun trails once you get up in there to the north east section of JT and old mines. Also instead of going out the main gate of JT there's some cool canyons to come back down to the same area just a couple miles down from where you started instead of doing Berdoo Canyon again which the trail head starts off of
@ wild_turkey
Dillion Rd.
Let me know what day your thinking of going and I will run it with you if you wanna meet up.

I did it 3 weeks ago. Airing down will give you a much better ride.
