SoCal Club Trail Leader Roster
TRAIL LEADERS:
The intent of this thread is to identify those who:
1. Are experienced on certain SoCal trails
2. Are confident enough to lead others through those trails
3. Are willing to be trail leaders so we can diversify our meet & greets
This is an ongoing post, I will update it as volunteers present themselves.
1. Quatre Coureur (Paul) - Very familiar with most of the trails in the BigBear/GreenValleyLake area. I recently lead a group thru Dishpan Springs(from Arrowhead to CrabFlats). Before that was Holcomb Creek, Lower Larga, White Mtn. etc. Jacoby Canyon and Calico.
2. 85Straight (Al) - All the the roads in San Jacinto mountain range. Bee canyon, Indian Mountain 4S21, Indian Canyon 4S06, East Indian Creek 4S10, Black Mountain truck trail, Rouse Hill truck trail, Thomas Mountain truck trail.
3. GVL (Tim) - Familiar with all things Green Valley and the surrounding trails. I also know the campground and which spots are good, better, best if anyone wants any tips - really cool place to camp with fishing (stocked lake), hiking, Mtn biking, and of course wheelin' right at your disposal.
4. Oneluv13T4R (Miah) (you've been voluntold!) - Red Canyon Jeep Trail
5. TheSentinel (Jason) - 5S07 Bee Canyon to 5S09 San Jacinto Ridge Rd
6. boyfester (Marc) - Experienced with all of the easy/moderate trails in Anza Borrego Desert National Park plus a few of the difficult ones too. I've lead groups from Banner through Chariot Canyon & Oriflamme Canyon, South Coyote Canyon, Fish Creek/Sandstone Canyon, Arroyo Seco del Diablo, Canyon Sin Nombre, Mud Caves/Diablo Dropoff, Font's Point, Calcite Mine, Grapevine Canyon, Blair Valley, and Pumpkin Patch.
7. mwray8909 - very familiar with hungry valley, Frazier Park, and Lockwood Valley.
As leaders are bound to become competent in more than one or two trails, I can modify the roster accordingly.

I also know the campground and which spots are good, better, best if anyone wants any tips - really cool place to camp with fishing (stocked lake), hiking, Mtn biking, and of course wheelin' right at your disposal. unfortunately this is the last weekend it's open this season, but an excellent place for a spring fling.
Note to: TROUT FISHERMEN- GV Lake was stocked all summer but the water temp was a few deg warmer than the trout like it so it was pretty slow the last few months and the lake is loaded with nice size trout. As soon as we get some consistent cold days the fishing is going to catch on fire and almost all the crowds will be gone - we are getting colder by the day so could happen anytime.

Great idea for a thread! Thank you for doing it.
@ Quatre Coureur
I see you guys do harder trails fairly often, do you ever get an itch for a moderate trail?

I do and I've been meaning to run some easier stuff so I can bring my wife along. It's just that every time I run a tough trail I want to move on to something more difficult. I recently ran John Bull with E-ROCKER and RedRun85 and now that's all I want to run. Oh and Gold Mtn. since I haven't done it yet. Anybody up for Gold Mtn...?
Update: Gold Mtn. Trail completed 6/3/17
Danny Cruz, Kevin(RedRun85), and I ran Gold Mtn. Wasn't too difficult. Headed over to JB.

Does any one have any experience with a San Filippe to Ensenada run via Mike's Sky Ranch? Looking to do this in March wanted to see if anyone else has made this trip. I know the border can be a nightmare as well. Any tips on that as well?

I don't have experience with a San Felipe run although I did do it via motorcycle in 1987 from Tecate. I even met Mike before he died.

Are there any trail leaders available or willing to go on the cleghorn running on 5/22? The added experience would be a great thing.
