I've helped out a couple different members and it's been nice working under some rigs again.

I think we need to have like a "wrench on our rigs" day or something.

one thing i want to learn to do myself is diff and transfer case fluid. i know it's not something that needs to be done very regularly, but i want to do mine because i don't think it's ever been changed. i don't see it anywhere in the 6 years of service records i got with the truck and the PO said he almost never used the 4WD. i'd feel better if i could get under there and have someone teach me that.

Any suggestions for muffler shops in OC? I called OC muffler in Costa Mesa, BRO in HB and Pro in HB, all wanted $90-120 to cut off my resonator and reroute the pipe behind the rear wheel. Other people on the board have said this cost them $35-60, so when i was getting those quotes over the phone I was a little bummed.

I'm down to do this too, I have a siphon pump we can use to transfer the fluid from the bottle to the inside of the tcase/diff. Let me know.

Just did this myself last month when I bought my 4runner- previous owner had 85Kmiles and never changed the gear oils! There is a very easy to follow write-up in the maintenance sticky on the 5thGen homepage. did the front, rear & T-case.

@ DannyLlama
's suggestion for reputable shops listed by category: can anyone recommend a trustworthy shop for diagnosing a suspension issue? I have clicking noising coming from my front suspension & recently my vsc/traction control has been engaging when it shouldn't be. the car has 85Kmiles w/ Toytec Boss lift. I bought it last month, knowing I would probably need to do some servicing on the suspension- but the traction control issue worries me as its a substantial safety issue. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Hi there... for VSC kicking on random times read this first - Yaw Rate and Acceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration
Regarding noise... Did you lift recently? If so, do you mind listing parts?
