San Diego: Anyone with a 5th gen 4Runner want a free "Ultimate Camping Mod"?
Hey everyone, I am looking for a guinea pig to test out a new version of a mod I make:
Ultimate camping mod- rear window up / down and hatch pop with ignition off!
The new variant will be 100% wireless and operate off a key fob. I don't have a 5th gen and want to find someone who will let me test this out on their 4Runner. In exchange, they will get the kit installed free of charge of course. I suspect this will be a 2 hour thing.
I am in Pacific Beach and would require you to come to me- more than happy to have you hang out while I install, or you can walk to the beach or bars. If interested let me know!

This will work on 4th gens, but at this point I am mainly focused on 5th gens. I will shoot you a PM though!

Wireless mod works great! Wireless fob controls all the same functions as the wired version of this install (lock/window up, unlock/window down, hatch pop).

It's the ultimate camping mod if you're sleeping in your vehicle. That way you can roll the back window down and unlock and pop the back hatch from a fob on the inside of the vehicle. Instead of needing to be outside the vehicle or up front with the key in the ignition. It's quite useful. And now since it's from a fob, being able to roll the back window down remotely is awesome and should have been factory....

Completed the install of the camping mod this weekend. Install was very simple and took about an hour. I had one issue that was the result of my own fault.
Instructions were very detailed and easy to follow. If you have any sense of how to work on your truck, this will be simple for you.
The functionality works perfectly! I will be heading out on a trip next week and my wife and I will be sleeping in the back 4 nights in total. So glad we can now roll the hatch window down with a press of a button as well as pop the hatch with another press of a button. We wont have to crawl out the side doors now!
Definitely recommend this product!

Ultimate is a subjective term, but yes I believe it is if you plan on sleeping in your vehicle. I use it all the time.
