August Big Bear trip (more difficult)
Its not like I go wheeling once a month, but since you all are trying to plan monthly runs I think a perfect run for hot august would be in big bear.
If someone wants to go, just let me know.
Im thinking Gold Mtn then John Bull. Or John Bull and holcomb creek backwards, then possible a quick run down dishpan since that only take 20 minutes or so.
Gold mountain requires 31's and is doable with open diffs and a few trys. sliders wouldnt hurt, but i doubt you can really hit them without trying. factory Skids minimum
John Bull needs F+R lockers sliders and 33's or a rear locker and a winch on 33's. I wouldnt be opposed to some rear locked people on 33's coming without winches but in that case the group needs to be somewhat small so we can pull them up the v-notch, and you never know some people may stack it and un-fun the hard spot
Holcomb Creek need sliders and a rear locker should be able to make it on 31's but you will likely use the sliders.
I am willing to go any time day or night On John Bull. Gold Mtn needs to be connected with something else to make the day somewhat interesting. ANy Takers on a Run?

I'm sure I'll be there. Pontiac's another option too. I'd say 32s and open diffs would make that trail. Sliders not necessary if you're careful.

Stock trail with KDSS
I have a stock trail with KDSS. Would it be able to handle the easier of the routes without expecting damage?

Good! It sucks you've had a run of bad luck with your diff, but you'll have fun once it's fixed!

Pontiac and gold mountain shouldnt be an issue.
And Brian, Jay, and Edwin I figured you all would be down to go. What trail do you want to do? It makes no difference to me, I wheel all the time. Im about to go up to dishpan and holcomb creek tonight
The only deal with pontiac is that it can be a HOT trail. we will have to see, that trail is always cool to make it out to once a year. And if im down that way i think a mottino wash run would be in order
He Jimmy cant wait till you lock the thing up and get to wheeling. IFS is fun. it really is

Any particular date you have planed? Also how would my 92 fare? I would like to join you guys but for the easier of the hard routes, 1 because I have no sliders and 2 I'm fairly new to off roading.
I just ordered a rear locker so I should have it and installed next week. My cars stats are in my signature. Thanks and look forward to wheeling.

Gold mountain is not bad, actually i think the first ledge is easier than it has been in the past. Some people had stacked the right side last time I was there.
As far as a date I was hoping some people would have inputted some opinions on what day works
August 13? Thats a saturday. should work for most.
As far as the trails Im planning on running. Brian and I were talking and we think a mottino wash run to start the day then head up to John bull. Ill be doing that next weekend so I will see if it will work or if its too far apart.
I can always fall back gold mtn and john bull and holcomb creek.
The deal with mottino is 33's rear locker armor and sliders. its a tight trail and it would be easy to get a little damage even in a fully armored truck Maybe just a tail light or something minor.

Mottino is a blast... make sure you have trail plug kits, and full size spares... That trail likes to eat tires.. I have lost 2 KM2s to that trail..
