Why doesn't this forum resize images?
Subject says it all. This is the first forum I've been on that doesn't resize images or prevent large images from uploading/displaying.
Countless threads are rendered useless due to image size. The Cougar Garage SAS thread is a good current example.
Is this not an easy fix?

This is not a new topic on here.
I agree with you ... one oversized image screws up the whole thread. Annoying as hell.
Bottom line - the Forum owner does not care and can't be bothered.

I prefer it that way. Sometimes you need the large image for a detailed shot.
Could they add a feature to have images displayed at 1024x768 or whatever, and then allow you to blow it up to the full size? Sure.
But at the same time it's 2017. How hard is it for people to resize a damn image?

I posted an example of f'd layout here:
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/commen...-resizing.html
Well the fact is you can have a huge size image, the forum should only DISPLAY a max size to keep from trashing everyone's layout on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. If you want to see the full size you simply click on it and it opens in same window or another tab without screwing every other of the 120,000 users on this forum

Monitor size has nothing to do with it, it's all in the resolution. A good excuse to upgrade to a nice 4k monitor.
Just hold control and use the scroll wheel to zoom out in your browser. Makes the text tiny but no thread has ever been 'ruined' for me.
After all the internet is voluntary.

You are absolutely correct it has everything to do with resolution. Also people posting 5k pics. I was simply trying to be as easy to the point as possible, I guess you couldn't be bothered to read the complete, short as it was post, the point was about mobile devices. The fact of the matter is, tablets, phones, ect. aren't 4k, yet.
Most 4k displays suck. (I have had 3 so far, not cheap ones either) You have to pay upwards of $1400-5000 for a factory color calibrated panel. App support is still crap.
Can't say it has ruined anything for me either, simply annoying. But hey since it hasn't ruined the innerwebz for you, well sh!t then lets call it a day. Nice truck BTW *noSarcasm*

I thought I read it:

I agree it's a forum etiquette issue but I'm just saying it's a minor annoyance to me. People in this thread make it sound like they can't go on the forums anymore because of it. It's the internet, it's the perfect playground for other people to screw it up.

Get with the times son, they are like $500 now. I agree on app support, resolution scaling is sometimes a pain.

I simply used the vernacular already in this thread.

You did read it correctly, originally, in the prior thread, it was strictly about mobile, just used a large HD+ display for visual aid. Still is, I just expanded. Sorry, I thought you were strictly referencing the older thread.

I am talking about now. I do DCC for a living and have for the last 18 years, believe me I know displays and colors. You are talking a crap UHD. A decent 30" UHD factory color calibrated display runs ~$1500. You want a real display true 4k Eizo Prominence Lust after one of these, you see one of these in person it will ruin you for anything else.
It is also probably also why I complain about this because I know how fast and easy it is to rescale without using a high-end photo editor.

For the specific forum software used by t4r.org, resizing is a breeze, its literally just something the admin's need to turn on.........

I have a 10" tablet. This issue is a PITA! Correcting it is a simple line of code. The Lord's and Nobles are unconcerned with the triflings of the serfs and vasals.
