Attachment Management in Threads?

I took a long break for quite a few years and didn't really catch up well on what features/things changed/got updated on the forum.

I noticed that many of my old threads, the pictures are either watermarked or just MIA due to the housing website(s) I used to use for the forum going pay to play. As a result I've just been uploading the files to the forum so they don't get lost over time, but something I haven't figured out is the attachment system.

I can upload attached files fine but I can't do anything with them in the thread when I'm writing it or editing it. I vaguely recall that in the past I would have the option to "Insert" my attached files in my post wherever I wanted with a thumbnail like how the "Post Image/Link" function worked, now it always just dumps everything at the end in full size.

This makes write-ups and detailed explanations a pain in the ass and almost requires me to make notations on pictures and provide an index in the post. Am I not seeing a button/string of code to input attached files in my post where I would like them? Do I need to just make a "Master Dump" thread in some hidden section of the forum to put files so that I can have an HTML link to post them as thumbnails in my threads?

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated! @admin
