Is there any decent fishing back there??

I saw an early third gen this morning, want to say '98, desert dune. Looked stock except for those TRD supercharged stickers. I was on the bus, so no hope of catching up to him.

I had my gear with me, but I didn't wet a line. The water looked pretty good, it was very clear, but that's just because it's winter and the river is low.

That far downstream it would be considered a warmwater fishery, so you'd mostly be after catfish, pike, and some bass. There might be the odd brown trout here and there too.

Housing market is down... you can get some nice properties for great prices right now. It seems like there are certain pockets in ABQ that always retain their value though, through bad times and good. Of course, those are always the more desirable areas.

Job market... Hard for me to say. I've got family members that are out of work and having a hard time finding jobs. On the other hand, I've talked to a lot of people who have recently landed new jobs. I'd say it all depends on what industry you're in. Blue collar stuff, I'd say the market is pretty tough. White collar, technology, and professional stuff, I'd say the market is strong.

Good call on the thread, the Moab trip sounds pretty rad. I'd be interested in some meet ups this summer, so I'll keep an eye on this thread.

On a somewhat unrelated note: Can anyone recommend a good Toyota/transmission mechanic in the Albuquerque area? Looking to have my clutch replaced sometime in the future and don't really have the time or patience to mess with it.

Kind of depends on what type of work you're talking about. AFAIK the job market in Albuquerque didn't take that much of a hit over the past few years compared to other places in the US. I personally don't know a single person laid off during the recession.

Then again the story might be different in areas like construction, retail etc.

Don't know all that much about the housing market, looks and sounds like a buyers market still. See a good number of properties with signs up for decent periods of time.

Toyomasters. San Antonio & Hawkins. 505-890-8696. Ask for Chris or Todd, they are the owners. Great shop... Toyota & Lexus only... trustworthy, knowledgeable, and experienced. I've been using them for 12 years.

Good morning everyone!

Weather is shaping up finally and we are bound to have an epic summer. Me and a friend are going to be headed to Conchas for the first run of the season for some good old fashion camping. He's got two jetski's out there so we have to take them out of their winter coma and hope that the weather is somewhat warm to play a little. We will be out there Wednesday the 21st through the 23rd at Cannon cove (unless its windy, then we will be at the Army Corp main dock) in my desert dune 3rd gen. All are welcome to come. Usually some really good dock fishing and the lake is this empty early in the season so it's usually a really good time.

With that being said, I don't want to make the journey with my M/T so I picked up some used Goodyear radials but now need some wheels to slap them on. Anyone have a set of wheels I can purchase from you?

Hope everyone has a great day.

I saw you there too, as I got back to my truck. I work there, should see me parked there quite often.

Your 4runner looks nice btw!

Did they finally open up that D_ck's Sporting Goods you were telling me about, Ripcord?

PoRunner,

Conchas sounds like a good time. I'm working those days, but I remember back in the day I used to have a buddy who I'd accompany out there for the spring shakedown run. Good times. Cannon cove is a great place to camp.

We usually have an awesome time fishing and what-not. Hopefully the weather holds together and it isn't too windy but there are ways around that so it's not to big of a deal. We will arrive at about 4pm on Wednesday and will probably leave at sun down on Friday so my rig runs colder. If anyone wants to make a day trip we will have steaks and mas cervezas.

Thanks!

As you got back to your truck? I was passing in between Lowes and D_cks, you were pulling out of D_cks. I wasn't sure if that was you, and I kinda did a double take as I passed. First time seeing your ride in real life, not the forum. Looks very nice!

I think you mentioned something about the bus, do you ride the bus to UNM? I've been riding it to save $ on gas, since its been on the rise.

What are you studying?
