I’m back in the 4runner game! Should have never gotten out of it! Picked up a 2018 trd orp last week. Probably won’t lift it this time since it’ll be my DD. Will probably still get some sliders and a few small things. Anyways, glad to be back

Just had my transfer approved to relocate to Albuquerque in the next few weeks or so. Once we get settled in I'm interested in what trails are around.

Quite a few areas to offroad not too far away. The far west end of Southern Blvd in Rio Rancho is a pretty good area.

Can't wait, we will most likely be moving to the Rio Rancho area. Are there any group runs or local meet ups?

There hasn't been a group run out of here in quite some time but the Toyota/Tacoma group on facebook (TTE NM or something like that) go on runs often. I've unfortunately missed all of them due to work or busy with something else. Let me know when you're in town, I wouldn't mind going out there again.

I am also game for bringing the group runs back.
Any of you ever been up forest road 289? It goes from just past the golf course in Cochiti up to the Valles Calderas. Anyways, went up it yesterday. It was a pretty awesome drive. Only open for a week or two more before they shut it down for the winter. Also there was a 200 yard stretch with some significant water going through it that got a little crazy.

Glad you had a great time. I googled forest road 289 to get an idea of where it started and it showed it south of Datil, near the AZ border. Also looked on Gaia and didn’t see it but that’s no surprise since I’m new to the app and haven’t figured it out fully yet.

It's more commonly known as "Dome Road", used to access the Dome Wilderness and St. Peters Dome. That wash is the downstream end of the Rio Chiquito which drains the area burned by the Las Conchas fire in 2011. Just a 1/4 mile upstream is what's left of Dixon Apple Farm, which used to draw a big crowd in the fall for the apple harvest. The farm was destroyed in the ensuing flash floods that came off the burn scar. You don't want to be in that wash during a heavy storm.

I've driven it, its a fun ride.

If anyone is looking for a nice rig, it looks like
@ ALBPM
's old rig is for sale on C-List... I'm not sure if he's the seller, or if he sold it to someone and they are now re-selling, but he took really good care of this thing.
https://santafe.craigslist.org/cto/d...741990163.html
The seller mentions a leak near the head, which I'll bet is just the valve cover gasket.

Yes, it is my 2002 Runner. I parted with it back in April. It was part of a Medicaid spend-down from selling my Mother-In-laws house. My wife and I traded the Runner in on a 2018, Limited Platinum Highlander. I paid 60% and the M-I-L paid 40% to justify the purchase with Medicaid.
I do miss the Runner or the "Golden Goose" as BFAD named it...LOL!!!
I owned it for 16 years!!
The real upgrades are in my Sig. The stereo is a Pioneer deck, kenwood Amp, Alpine speakers and a small Rockford Fosgate subwoofer box in the rear.

The "Golden Goose", I forgot about that . Did you end up throwing a SC on it? The seller didn't mention it, but if it has a SC at that price I might be tempted.

No, I never did put an SC on it. But it has just about everything else..LOL!!
It will need that leak repaired possibly head gasket and the tires are old. I bought those 285 Dueler Revos back in 2011 and never wore the tread down far enough to replace them.
Except for those two issues it's a good Series 3.
I still have a few things for the Runner. One is a new "Carbon Graphite Like" bug Shield and I think I may have one of the Injen filters. Also I have a few replacement front turn Signals for the ARB front bumper.
