Thanks to everybody for the great time, I know I had a blast. It was nice putting some faces to names. My phone camera sucks but here we are lined up at the entrance to the trail. Sadly I didn't take any better pictures.

Well, the weather was great today. Breezy, and probably one of the last cool weekends we're going to have until October. There were some puddles, but not a lot of real mud. I would post pics, but really the only one I have is the line up that BlazeRunner already posted. Gotta admit that I'm a bit embarrassed that I'm the only one that hit bottom on the waterfall obstacle... Definitely need that extra 2.5 inch lift now.
As Always, thanks to @logfreqjeff for leading the group today. It's always good having someone out there that knows his stuff and has run most of the trails already.

Was totally awesome today! I'm hooked, and more importantly the wife is hooked. On the drive home she was pricing tires and lifts and wanted to stop at Oreilleys to price spray on bed liner LOL! The more we drive the 4Runner the more we are impressed by its ability. I thought for sure we would be the ones that wouldn't make it up the waterfall.
Was great meeting you all!

That Stuck pic is awesome - it takes skills to get hung up like that
I don't care where we go, I just want to get out. I'm not a big fan of Sycamore much either; too much traffic, too many inexperienced people, too many quads, too much drinking. As far as Butcher Jones goes, I feel similar about that area, BUT there are 5 coves to explore out there and I know how to get to them all. Its the first 2 that are usually the trouble spots. With the group we had last week and the couple of other friends of mine that would like to come out, I don't see getting to cove 3,4 or 5 impossible for anyone. Generally there isn't many people there, just boaters, and they don't usually stay very long. And the only reason I mention BJ as a possible destination is that its supposed to be hot hot hot this weekend and cooling off in the lake is always a good option.
I have GPS tracks for Ajax Mine trail where we could meet up at the Cottonwood Canyon entrance (where we aired up last week) then head in, check out an Amethyst mine & the remnants of the the Ajax Mine Processing center, then take Telegraph trail up and over near Picket Post Mtn and the trail finally ends in Superior. My GPS says its 20 miles from Cottonwood Canyon to Superior and took us 4 1/2 hours but I think that includes an hour or so at the Amethyst Mine
Or, we could go check out Raymert Mine & the Sugar Shack like we discussed. We could either start at Cottonwood and run it north to the 60, or vice-versa. I have gone in from the 60 but not from Cottonwood, but I have the GPS tracks that we can follow from either direction. This is not an overly challenging route, but there are some steep hill climbs like last week - that last little bit of the trail last week actually was Ajax Mine Trail that we took to Cottonwood Canyon after we turned around due to the locked gate.
What does ya'll think?

the mine/ sugar shack sounds cool. Won't be long and have to head up north to cooler weather.

Is Saturday an option for anyone? Sunday will be reserved for cramming for finals the following week.
