Corral Canyon run, Sun Jan 8

another EPIC trail ride

Trail Ride…..at Corral Canyon…..Gunslinger Offshoot and Bronco Flats

Corral Canyon OHVA is about an hour east of San Diego off the 8 freeway in the Cleaveland National Forest Forest.

Date: Sunday, Jan 8, 2012
Meet up time: 7:00 am to 7:30 am
Meet location: Los Coches McDonald's (13574 CAMINO CANADA, EL CAJON, CA, 920212059 US - Google Maps)

There is a Shell gas station here as well where you can fuel up and grab any last minute snacks or if you need something more substantial, Denny’s is next door.

Departure time: 7:30 am. Leave McDonalds and head east on the 8 freeway to Buckman Springs Road exit, then onto Corral Canyon OHVA 4 Corners staging area.

CB Channel: 12

Trail Rating: Moderate to Difficult (blue to yellow)

The trail run will start at the west entry point of Gunslinger (11, blue) on Morena Stokes Valley Road, continue onto Gunslinger Off Shoot (911A yellow), back onto Gunslinger (11, blue), continue on Bronco Flats (5, blue) and end at the south exit point of Bronco Flats (5, blue) and end at Los Pinos road. At the end of Bronco Flats (5, blue) we will break for lunch and then some will continue on to do Bronco Peak (3, yellow) east to west.

Trail difficulty guide –
Blue Trails, Moderate - While more challenging than the "Easy" rated trails, drivers of all skill levels can enjoy these trails. At this level a stock high clearance four wheel drive vehicle is required. Trails are typically narrow with possible brush that may scratch your vehicle. Passing usually requires backing up

Yellow Trails, Difficult - At this rating, a vehicle requires increased ground clearance and proper protection. Trails will often require a spotter and should only be attempted by more experienced off road drivers. Most trails at this level require 3” lift, 33" tires and at least one locker and sliders are recommended.

Confirmed entries –
