Well I go there often to visit family as they live in Swisher and one works in the Amana Colonies and the other owns an IT company in Cedar Rapids. . .any place to go off the pavement even the slightest there?

I'm in Omaha and also go to IA often, as we have a cabin at Holiday Lake in Brooklyn.

nothing that i know of. most of my off-pavement driving is getting to and from my hunting and fishing spots... lots of privately owned farmland.

I am also part of the Iowa crowd. I love down in the southern end though, close to the missouri border.

West Des Moines! And really the only place is when I go about 45 mins south to some of my Dads land. Also there is an "offroad" park about 1.5 hours away. I will keep a look out for ya!

Interesting. I go to two places that are private land. One place people call an "offroad park", but it really is private land. Probably same place your talking about......Dans aka MIOBI. The other place you would not be going to unless you were wanting to do extreme offroading and knew the right people. So do you go out much?
There is a Toyota offroad event coming up in August in Iowa.
Here is the registration information....

I am not positive yet. I have a family related commitment/conflict on Saturday. I am thinking about taking that Friday off and going Friday and Sunday, maybe leave some of my stuff there on Saturday. I have been there many times and will know some of the guys in the club hosting the event. If I go I might take both rigs. (85' 4Runner and 00' 4Runner)

Plan as of now is to go down Friday, attend my family commitment on Saturday morning and go back either Saturday afternoon/evening or on Sunday. I will be taking my 85' 4Runner.

Yeah I totally would be up for this, but it just came up too soon and at a horrible time. Have a family event that weekend as well as a new job I just started so my few months ahead of me look a little intimidating. But hey, Dewey Dodge of Ankeny here I come! Take some pictures and hopefully I will be able to jump on this next year!

Bummer you can't make it. Will see about the pictures. I have been there so many times that I have tons of pictures from there. I will probably take the camera. Maybe I will take pictures of the more mild rigs since it seems none of the guys with mild rigs want to go there. Some of guys on Tacoma World seem afraid.
