Jesus, I thought that this would be an interesting "competition" yet it's spiraled out of control thanks to stupid internet banter. If I lived in CO I'd be un installing all the parts I have put on and gone up against a 5th gen by now just to shut everyone up, lol. To the one lowly 5th gen owner who still frequents this thread, I say, with the utmost respect, sack up and take your truck off road. Not onto some grass. You can't grovel/ agree with Thai about a( in this case, your) newer vehicle having superior off road capabilities (comapred to a 3rd gen) and then not even be willing to take it to a location that will actually be challenging. No point in a competition if the contestants can opt out of a trail that a stock vehicle in the group would/could do. I understand not wanting to "blemish" your new vehicle, but at some point or another, you'll dent a fender or rip off a sid plate (that is, if you actually do any off roading). I've ripped off mud flaps, fender flarers, scraped up the sides of my car, ripped off two front bumpers, destroyed 2 CV's and a LCA while offroading, in the 2 or so years I have been modifying my 4Runner. Was I anticipating these things to occur? Nope, no one is really, because shit happens. Shut up and wheel already

Do you guys not understand???
You are just making Thai happy. The longer this thread goes on, the more post he gets and the better he feels about himself.
The more his post counter goes up, the bigger he thinks his c0ck gets.
Back on topic... I however will have to agree with one of thai's statements. There just hasn't been enough time for this competition. I do not beleive that the 5th gens are "scared" I just simply dont think there are any Trail edition 4runners in the Colorado area that happen to be on this forum yet.
If there is, find them, pm them and lets actually have a nice get together on a trail and BBQ it up!!! Please leave all know it alls at home. THANKS.

Show me where I have agreed with, or even quoted, anything Thai has said with reagrd to the 5th Gen, on any of the (now) three threads discussing this. You can't because I haven't. Either take the time to read or kindly STFU, because right now you are adding NOTHING to the discussion and pissing off the one 5th Gen owner who has even bothered to respond. Yeah, the nice road side camping spot has some grass and a fire pit, but a quarter mile farther up the mountain the road was slush, snow, and half-frozen mud and I kept going until I reached the sign that says "NO Motorized Vehicles Beyond this point". Had I know you needed mastubatory material to accept that I plan on using my $40k Trail Edition to go offroad, I would have stopped and took some more pictures for you. As it was, I was too busy not sliding down the side of the mountain.

For the record, I wasn't the one who begged off for fear of damaging his truck. That was the 3rd Gen owner. If you have an issue, it's with him. I'm not afraid of accidental damage, but I'm not going to ignore the physical limitations of a wider vehicle to impress you either.
You have an apt screen name, I haven't met a Kelly yet who wasn't an ignorant *****.

I remember going to Mountains States Toyota around Dec. maybe Jan I dont know, lol but asking about the 5th gen, I asked when they are going to get a Trail Edition, the salesman told they "they wont get one" IF thats true, then we wont see this competition happen, unless someone drives in from out of state, lol
