We climbed to an elevation of 9200ft on a beautiful SoCal day.
Fires had ravaged the lower elevations. Higher elevations had so much beauty it was quite breathtaking. The Giant Sequioa trees were magnificant.
We camped at about 8000ft and it was damn cold in the morning when we awoke for breakfast.
If you have a chance, I high recommend the area.
We covered the Sherman Pass trail which was challenging but not difficult. A stock 4Runner could do it with some deviations around the more challenging parts. We also did Monache Meadows which was basically easy, with a few water crossings for fun times.
That looks like fun! Oh how I miss wheeling in the Sierra! Have any more info or close-up shots fo that silver rigs tire carrier? Looks like it plugs into the hitch?
