On Yankee, there is a rock quarry that is extremely difficult to get up. First, a 3rd gen got up it, then Ric tried to get up with his minivan tires but didn't make it so I gave it a whirl. Turns out with my new tires I only got about a foot more than Ric.

Looking back at it today, I got to thinking that I might have left my center diff unlocked. So I kept beating myself up about it and couldn't believe I had done that.

However, driving home tonight, I remembered that I missed the LC crawl right up it with no problems because (heres the clincher) I was too busy getting my damn center diff unlocked. SO in the end, I WAS smart enough to lock it up!
Ill clarify it up a little more, as Doug was first trying to get up the pit, he would hit it "D" I noticed it, and told him to put the gear shifter in 1, PLUS he was hitting alot slower then I, once he had it in 4LO and 1st, he did pretty good, I was hitting it a little faster, lol, so I think momentem got me up as far asw my tires would allow, but ya gotta remember, this is his first year of really wheeling,
IMHO hes doing AWESOME, learning more every trip, learning his rig, following the spotters advise/direction IMHO if he had just a few more trips under his belt, he would have make it, he was sooooo close, and Im talking within 2" of making it, but was smart enough to know when to stop and not break, major kudos

That makes sense. I was also thinking about it some more and if your center diff wasn't locked, the VSC would have been beeping like crazy when your tires started to spin. Since I was in your 4R with you when you attempted that obstacle, I can vouch for you.

I have to say, I was VERY impressed with the 3rd gen and the LC making it up! That wasn't an easy obsticle. I was surprised Ric made it as close as he did with the minivan tires. Doug, you probably could have made it if it weren't for my fat a$$ being in your 4R with you weighing you down! My low-rider wouldn't have stood a chance!

Thanks ric! I agree, every day I get more and more comfortable with this truck and know more and more how to drive it. As you said, I'm liking it more and more every day.

Can't wait for the next run!
