I agree that the more you learn about your truck the more confidence you will have in it. All my modifications I've done myself and if you know what you are doing and have hand tools you can get through a suspension upgrade in about 3 hrs. If not I have a couple recommendations if you are looking for a mechanic. I know some Toyota master mechanics that wheel and absolutely know their stuff. Again I forget about this section. Guess I need to subscribe..... Oh well we need to plan another meeting for San Antonio area guys! Btw I'm in NW area near Seaworld but work all over the city if you see me around.... Honk.

New to the Forum

Hi guys, I live up in Schertz and am new to the forum. I picked up my 4runner last year and have been looking for places to go off roading. Have you guys gotten together and done anything around San Antonio? I'm planning on attending the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree this year.

Diggin that rear bumper. I ordered my front bumper in December just waiting for itto be finished. Doing a local pick up to save the money on freight. We need to organize a meet and greet sometime. I work 6 days a week and only get Sundays off but can work around anything. That runner looks good!

hello everyone still new here to the forum but thought id drop in here and say whats up to all the SA runners. slowly planning build on my 2016 TEP. had a quick question for you guys in the area, been reading on sliders here on the forum and looking into changing out the boards to either shrockworks or bud built step sliders( have little ones), and really dont like the look of those stock running boards. Kinda leaning towards the shrockworks since it is in Houston and shipping will not be so much, the wait may be long but read alot of post that they are quality product. just want to know if any of you here have them on and maybe i cold take a look at em really quick before i put my order in.

Sorry I'm slow to check this page. Not a lot as far as offroad around San Antonio. But there are parks with dirt roads, and OHV forks within a couple of hours from town where you can really test your trucks. Hidden Falls Adventure park in Marble Falls is one of my favorites... I am doing Jambo this year as well as some other toyotas from San Antonio. We usually meet up and head out together. Camp together too. Should be fun if you want to join the group.

Yeah I went to pick up my bumper also. Saved me some money as well as doing install myself. Yeah would be good to get something planned.

I have shrockworks sliders also. I like the bolt on design due to my main concern is protection but rarely do heavy wheeling. Plus they are solid. If we can work something out you are welcome to check them out.

Thanks, i may just order the step sliders from shrockworks and be done with it. i like alot of there products from what pictures I've seen and read about there quality, don't mind waiting either if the quality is there. Although i was going to wait for a group buy but i think ill do the step sliders first and wait for a group buy for FR bumpers (maybe). i don't plan to wheel hard as its the family vehicle i want take trips with, beaches, light trails, camp. slowly learn the vehicle and improve from there.
i see your part of SAFD, your truck is awesome man, I'm free most of the week as I'm in the medical field and usually work 3 days a week. shoot, if your at your station with your truck i could stop by sometime and take a look.
A meet and greet would be cool too if one is setup, but seems quiet in here from reading past post

I got a good deal on OPOR sliders. I have read good and bad about them. I like the look and for no more than I wheel at the moment they will do the job. I had BB skids and sliders on my 97 Sr5. If you plan on wheeling hard i would go with BB or SW.

Will be going with SW step slider. I don't see myself wheeling hard any time soon, it if I ever needed it would be there already. More of a buy once and done deal. BB seem good to but they cost a lot more that SW. SW is local, shipping is cheaper and from what I've read, produce reliable products. Just gotta wait for them.

How do you like you BOSS lift? A lift will probably be next, later in the year, want to enjoy the truck for now and see what I like and plan for future builds.

Been looking into the compustar remote start/alarm. Anyone have them installed here in SA? on there website only Best Buy and Tintworld are dealers. So far the Tint World on 410/Bandera seemed to know there stuff when i spoke with them so far. Will be checking out different best buys over the weekend to see there installs and techs. Just wondering if anyone here had there install done at any shops here.

I actually am friends with the owner of tint world and they also own Ameraguard truck accessories. They have the combined knowledge, with all their workers, to do anything you can think of. If you contact Ameraguard I'd ask for Brandon.

Sub'd
In North Central San Antonio
Looking forward to getting my SouthernStyle Speed slimline bumper installed in the next couple weeks along with a Warn Zeon 10-s platinum!
Pictures were taken on the day I picked the truck up in Georgia and then did some wheeling and put my sliders on in Arizona over the Christmas holiday
Happy trails!

Good to know. That where you get work done on yours? Saw your post in Main forum that directed you to here about asking on SA meetup. I'd be in if one is setup. I see a few runners here and there slightly modded around town. What's your look like may have seen you around.

Yeah man. They do everything there (ameraguard...same owner as tint world). Paint, Bedliner spray, hydro dipping, etc you name it. They are expanding too and Danny the owner is SUPER friendly.

I got my icon stage 2 lift installed by them and it was perfect first install. I did hear a rattling but it was actually from a bad Toyota bolt, unrelated to the install. They still had me bring it in free of charge, swapped the bolt and charged me ZERO for their time and parts.

I drive a silver 5th gen SR5 Lift and tires is all I have on it for now. I'm thinking of starting a dedicated group and monthly meets. Starting old school like in a parking lot in the morning and a ride in the afternoons or something. Wondering how the interest will pan out though. What is your rig?
