I hear General Sam's is pretty decent. You should hit up Absolute, he is in the Huntsville area.

HOLY COW! I have been on here for almost a year and just found a thread about TEXAS!
Man o' man.....we need to get together and schedule something. I have no idea where to go out side of the Glimer & Bridgeport trails in North Tex. Kind of new to the area....and not much public land ( ). I have heard from a Jeep buddy of mine the trails in Clayton, OK are pretty good, but can be crowded??
I have been trying to make the TTR meetings they have every month but for some reason or another cant ever make it. Any of you guys get by and make one?

Colorado is so awesome. Its a shame I havent gotten to take the 4Runner anywhere, its almost never off pavement as its the mommy wagon. In 2003 my wife and I drove up to Colorado Springs. At the time we were still driving our 1996 Acura Integra GSR. We took that car up Pike's Peak, all around the back roads etc. We drove out to Garden Of the Gods and near the balancing rock, there's an entrance to a dirt road called Rampart Range Road. We drove down it a ways to see what was down there. We had no idea it would take us up, and down, several mountains, and end up being one of our favorite activities being there were soooooo many amazing scenic spots to stop and take pictures. We drove that car probably 75-100 miles down all gravel and dirt roads, washboard, potholes, dust, you name it. That freakin car never missed a beat. BUT, would have been much easier on the 4Runner.
Not that my 2wd SR5 V6 is really off road capable or anything lol.

Just picked up my '04 4Runner last week, been in the Dallas area for less than a year as well. Been hanging out with a good group of Lexus guys since I've been out here. Any one meet up out here and any good local places to have some light off roading? I need new wheels and tires to do more advanced stuff.

I live just south of Denton - Unless you have big tires, lockers, winch stay away from Clayton, OK with a T4R - Bridgeport is a good place for a day, and Gilmer is awesome.
You can always go to Hot Springs, AR - that is the best place for every type of wheeling - easy to extreme

Anyone near San Angelo? Not to familiar with the are so I don't really know what "nearby" means in Texas! Me and the fam will be moving out there in June for about 6mo. Hope to do some wheeling while were there.
